On September 14, Brothers from the state of Georgia convened in the University of West Georgia in Carrollton for the 2019 Georgia Sigma Leadership Summit. With a purpose of becoming a more-informed brother, men of Sigma attended workshops aimed to develop them fraternally, personally, and professionally. The morning began with the greetings from state director, Monaleto Irby. After the greetings, former General Counsel John Turner presented a risk management workshop mainly aimed at how to avoid situations that can ruin the image of the fraternity and protect the fraternity from potential lawsuits. La’ Mar Walker of the Phi Beta Sigma Sigma chapter presented a workshop which emphasized the importance of men managing their mental health. Kenneth Hodge of the Xi Chi Sigma provided updates from the 2019 Conclave. Prior to lunch, Irby held a workshop for the chapter presidents.

After lunch, brothers regathered for the second half of the summit. Program directors provided updates on national service programs and initiatives Chester Miller presided over a unique workshop. Instead of a workshop related to the fraternity, Miller presented a workshop to show brothers how they can save money by eliminating cable and satellite television. Brothers engaged into the workshop as some of them noted the pros and cons of eliminating cable/satellite television. Brothers of the Phi Beta Sigma Sigma chapter presided two workshops. Michael Hines presided over the chapter finances while Larry Banks broke down the meaning of brotherhood. Keon Berry of the Chi Chapter gave steps for the collegiate brothers and chapter advisors to winning undergrad. Former Director of Collegiate Affairs, Anthony Morman, provided membership intake process (MIP) certifications.

Another unique workshop was the Sigma/Zeta Relations workshop. Georgia State Director of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., Vicki Pearson collaborated with Irby to show brothers how to build a great bond with the sisters of Zeta Phi Beta. The conference concluded with the singing of the national hymn.
